Definitely recommended

**Semi-extended** BP SS slide stop 08/03/2017

Ordered this for my Gold Cup Trophy ... even tho I've got big hands, I've always found that working the slide catch takes too much in-hand repo-ing to be really comfy, but I've never liked the feel (or look) of the really extended ones.

Took a chance & special-ordered the Semi-extended Bullet Proof slide stop & am super pleased ... it's gives just the perfect (for me) extension and is -- moreover -- just beautifully designed: it just looks beautiful on the pistol. The finish is kind of a semi-shiny matte, which should fit in with many other guns' furnishings. (It was a special order thru Brownells, who did their usual really efficient work.)

Well Named 30/05/2016

I've been shooting 1911s since 1967. Over the years I've accumulated a collection of broken 1911 slide stops. Since they first became available when this has happened I've put in Wilson Bullet Proof slide stops, and I've never broken one of them.

Additionally the shaft is close to .200 diameter and aids barrel fit and lock up. They're not MIM or cast or even forged but machined and then hardened.

Several of my 1911s have several "Bullet Proof" parts in them.

Do Not Buy 02/08/2013

In preparation for Gunsite's 250 pistol course, I replaced the OEM slide stop on my Colt 1911 .45 ACP with Wilson Bullet Proof stainless steel slide stop The Wilson let me down during the course. The lug that goes through the frame window became peened. I have been shooting 1911s for over 40 years and I have never had this happen before. More significantly, on one occasion, the slide stop slightly drifted out the left side of the frame. This caused a catastrophic malfunction, totally locking up my pistol. I had to leavae the shooting line to have it addressed. Finally, the finish of Wilson Bullet Proof slide stop became mottled and discolored. In short, this product failed me. I was so disappointed that I returned it to Brownells for a refund and reinstalled my OEM Colt slide stop.
