The 1911 Bobtail Mainspring Housing from Ed Brown is designed to enhance your concealed carry experience by reducing bulk without compromising magazine capacity or performance.

Product Features:

  • Eliminates Sharp Profile: Removes the sharp profile at the rear of the grip that can “print” when carrying a concealed 1911 Auto.
  • Material Reduction: Reduces bulk by nearly ½" from the butt while maintaining correct grip position.
  • Customisation: Requires modification of grip panels. Available in various patterns including Smooth, Checkered (25 lpi), Snakeskin, Chainlink, or Chainlink II.
  • Complete Set: Includes mainspring, cap, and retaining pin. All internal parts are officer's model size.

Definitely recommended

Brownells USA well made parts for a great upgrade 15/01/2017

I normally try to avoid buying super specific tools but I think that the jig to install these housings is a smart purchase. With the jig, thei nstallation is a pretty straight forward deal. I suppose that there must be some people that don't like the bobtail, but I find it to be a huge improvement for any 1911 that will be carried concealed. The Ed Brown MSH is well made ... not free, but they are a quality solution for this upgrade.

Brownells USA Bobtail MSH 01/05/2015

I installed the bobtail MSH after using the Ed Brown bobtail jig. The MSH dropped right in with no fitting required, not including the finishing of the cut. It looks and feels good.
