The 1911 Beavertail Grip Safety by EGW is expertly machined from solid barstock to provide a custom fit for your firearm. Designed with the gunsmith in mind, this grip safety is slightly oversized at critical points, allowing for precise fitting to your specific frame.

  • Wider Beavertail: The beavertail is wider than the frame, allowing it to be fitted directly to the frame for a snug, rattle-free fit.
  • Custom Length and Angle: Overall length is longer at the bottom, and the angle is designed to fill the gap between the mainspring housing and the safety.
  • Radius Fit: The radius is .245" to accommodate frames pre-cut to .250".
  • Pin Hole Finish: The pin hole is finish reamed to .158" to enhance fit and function.

Brownells USA Worst beaver tail 21/07/2017

This is the worst beaver tail I've seen doesn't fit and after hours of grinding and fileing it still dosent fit don't waste your money.

I bought the .250 radius safety for a build on a ruger frame and slide. Very minimal fitting required and is a huge improvement over the stock part. Very nice and snug fit and will be easily blended, EGW wasn't kidding about how this easily fits the Ruger Sr 1911. Of course service from Brownells was excellent.
