The second generation Brownells 1911 magazines combine heavy duty construction with the reliability you've come to expect from a century old service weapon. The body and follower are constructed from heat treated stainless steel, with witness holes for a fast round count. Xylan~ exterior coating provides corrosion protection, as well as a slick, friction reducing finish. The skirted anti-tilt follower is mated with an extra-power spring. The removable polymer base pad allows easy disassembly, as well as drop protection when changing magazines on the fly.

Great magazine (02/01/2017)

Had a couple cheapie mags that worked well. Had a couple of high dollar mags that didn't work so well. Decided to replace the high dollar ones. Figured I'd try these. I am impressed. No failures. Worked great. Easy to disasemble, put back together, for cleaning. Good work, Brownells! Ordering more.

Fail to feed. (17/01/2017)

I had high hopes on these magazines, they looked good, but when loading the 7th and 8th rounds tilted down and would not feed. I tried them on 2 different 1911's same results. On further inspection I found the anti-tilt follower would tilt before it begin to compress the spring and weigh less than my factory magazines. I have returned these magazines.

Don't waste your time (15/07/2017)

These magazines are very poorly designed. I purchased the three-pack and each of them failed to have the slide lock back on the last shot. I used them in my Colt Combat Commander and have never had the problem while using original Colt magazines. I just returned them to purchase the original Colt magazines.

Great magazine (16/07/2017)

I own about a dozen of these 1911 magazines. Have about 5000 rounds through them out of 4 pistols the only issue so far is with the Federal aluminum cased ammunition. There were several failures to feed, no issues with brass cased rounds.

Plan on adding more.

Best 1911 Magazine I have found. (09/01/2018)

This is one of the best magazines I have found for a 1911. It is similar to the ACT Mag (the other 'best' magazine), except without the hi gloss finish. Tried this one after seeing it come out on top in a Gun Tests mag test. I haven't been sorry.
