It took me a long time to decide to buy one of these torque wrenches, but now I have three, and I wouldn’t want to do without their convenience. For the professional or amateur gunsmith who does the same sorts of things frequently, they are a great time-saver and confidence-builder. When mounting a scope, for example, we don’t have to worry if a screw is too loose or if we’re risking breaking or stripping something. And just as important, they reduce the tendency to accept a “close enough” result. They make the tasks they’re designed for so quick and easy that I don’t hesitate to adjust an eye relief or correct a canted reticle even if it’s only slightly off.
