Magpul is a Fantastic magazine.(30/06/2016)
I can not fault them in any way. We use them in training I have fired 5,000 rounds them no problems. The dust or dirt covers are great throw in your pocket no junk gets in. And they come free. 1 dam good magazine worth every penny! WE ARE NOW USING 5.56X 45 MAGS TOO CAN NOT ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THEM ALSO!
Mags arrived on time as promised and in pristine condition. Just got my S&W M&P10 that was shipped with the previous 243 mag. That mag works flawlessly In the new 291 mag, there are subtle changes. The spring loaded bullet platform was changed to be more stable when depressed and it seems that inserting rounds is easier. I noticed that the new mag fit tighter in the mag well and at first would not drop out of the well when ejected but was easily drawn out. Now, after a little bit of Break Free on the exterior surface and some use, it drops out just like the old version. Got 2, should have got more. Happy Camper, RickM46
Fine product(12/01/2014)
Have both Gen 2 & Gen 3 versions. Gen 3 is a little larger with a different floor plate and ridges around lower part of body to help gripping. Follower is a different color than older version. Fired one full mag off with zero problems, as expected. Empty mag did not fall free however. Had to pull out. Rifle is a Sig 716. Temp in mid 30s F.
Won't work in a Ruger SR762(14/02/2014)
Mag will not feed next to last round, round tilts up and jams, denting shoulder of the brass and scarring the bullet, also will not hold open bolt after last round fired. May be OK for other brands of rifles. Even Ruger has stopped shipping these with new rifles, now ships with DPMS mags.
Big Issues with DPMS Gen 2(14/05/2014)
I have experienced the exact same issues as "tazdevil" with my brand new DPMS Gen 2 Recon. Absolutely no feed or ejection issues with DPMS mags, exact same case neck distortions and feed/ejection issues as mentioned by tazdevil with his Ruger SR762. I was advised by DPMS to NOT use the Gen 3 Magpul magazines - either use Magpul Gen 2's or use DPMS mags.
Works with high quailty firearms.(06/08/2014)
Works great in my colt LE901-16S. Mags lock the bolt back & drops free. If you are having problems with magpul magazines then the problem is your junk DPMS, you should get a GOOD gun!
Gen3 not dependable in ANDERSON AM10 308(29/09/2014)
I have PMags with the Green Follower (Gen 3) dated 03/14 & 04/14. Their loose magwell fit and thick feedlips create the Perfect Storm of open tolerances so the bolt over-runs the rim of the cartridge on many occasions causing a misfeed. Misfeed occurs most often with a round on the right side feedlip position.
The subject rifle is an Anderson Manufacturing AM-10 .308. Rifle feeds & operates perfectly with KAC (Knight's) magazines. I like PMag products but would not recommend Gen 3 PMags in this rifle.
Perfect(04/05/2015)
I was hesitant to buy more because of the reviews I read. But here I am buying more. These mags are sweet. They fill very easily, functioned flawlessly. Although there is a bit fore & aft movement it didn't effect the performance.
So I'm here buying more :)
Close but not quite(23/10/2015)
This mag was used in my DPMS Recon Gen2. The next to last round would be ruined because of bolt override and the bolt wouldn't lock back after the last round fired. The original DPMS mag would do exactly the same thing but DPMS sent me a new mag that works perfectly.
Flawless(30/01/2016)
Purchased four of these for a custom. Zero problems after using each magazine several times. Comes with top cover clip, that keeps pressure off the feed lips when loaded and protects in case of dropping. I am purchasing more.
Zero Problems(06/09/2016)
I recently purchased (July 2016) a Ruger SR-762, which came with the Magpul pistol grip and three of the GEN M3 PMAG 20s. After 200 rounds through each magazine over the course of a month with them being stored fully loaded, I have had zero FTF and zero FTE. I have used bargain ammo as well as Winchester 150 grain Extreme Point. All of my weapons get an all-terrain paint job, and, even after several coats of ultra flat paint, the empty magazines fall free with no problem. I haven't experienced any of the problems other reviewers have complained of. Maybe Magpul fixed the problem.
Perfect mags(22/01/2017)
I guess all the problems other people have mentioned must've been fixed. I have run these in Ruger SR 762 rifles and Windham Weaponry 308s. Flawless in every case. Not one single malfunction. I will buy and have bought more.
Ruger 7.62 (27/10/2017)
I, personal, believe the early Ruger 7.62 were the problem, not this mag. My friend has a first production run and it has been disappointing for him with mags issues and FTF. I bought a later run and it has been flawless... Magpul(25,20,10 round mags),DPMS(20 round mags), shoots tighter groups, and not one FTF in 2000 rounds of any brand ammo I fired (won't use steel cases).
