Need a little fitting but no milling 12/04/2018
They work but Taurus has some proprietary bevels to their dovetails. No big deal if you can use a file. But hey folks remember a machinist learns to file before they learn to use CNC. A real machinist that is not a machine operator. So if you are not comfortable with precision filing get a gunsmith to fit these.
But as far as I can tell this is your only choice for night sights on a Taurus PT1911. The others... Hienie, Trigicon, Meprolight, XS Big Dot, and Truglo will only say "Sorry we don't make sights for this gun" I know I have failed to get any of them to help me with my measurements to build a set for the PT1911. Go figure huh....
Better, Faster & Easier than Front. 10/07/2017
This rear sight was very fast to fit and install compared to the front unit for My PT-1911. Cleaned the bottom paint and the side paint of the dovetail edges and right in it went as almost by hand push. Have to use allen screw until after test fire/sight in tomorrow , then Lock-Tight. Oh yes Oil and Brush took off the Trijicon lettering when testing with brass punch, this I can live with.. Both sights are a lot brighter in daylight than were factory three dots. This was a lot easier than other rear sights I have installed in the two other 1911's I have. Also I have noticed my Taurus PT-1911 doesn't have the same Slide Markings as others shown..
