Clear, Fast Sight Picture In All Light Conditions; Low-Profile, No-Snag Shape

Low-profile, fixed sights for Taurus 1911 have Tritium inserts that glow in low light, so you can see the sights clearly under all conditions. Same height as original factory sights, and cut for drop-in fit to factory dovetails—no machining of slide required. Rear sight has two dots, one on each side of the notch. Wide notch in rear sight provides more light around the front sight for a clearer sight picture and faster target acquisition. White circles around the inserts further enhance visibility in daylight conditions, while rebated rear blade helps prevent glare in bright light. X-Model design with sloping top surface, rounded corners, and beveled edges that won’t snag on clothing or holster—perfect for concealed-carry or tactical use. Purchase front sight (sold separately) to give your pistol an advanced three-dot night sight system or mix with other Novak sights to create a sight system customized to your shooting needs.

SPECS: Machined steel, matte black finish, with Tritium inserts. Fits Taurus 1911 pistols; minor fitting may be needed. Rear - .80” (2cm) long, .625” (1.6cm) wide, with .135” (3.4mm) wide notch.

It doesn't fit, AT ALL! (02/07/2010)

If I would have know that it would have taken that much machining I would have bought the adjustable tritium rear for some other dovetail cut and made it work. It would have been much faster. Good thing I specialize in blue repair...

Can't beat Novak's (30/08/2010)

Bought the set and had my local gunsmith install them. No problems at all. Great sight system. I've got them on my M&P 45 and will have them put on my duty Glock when they retire it and I buy it. I highly recommen them.

Bigger Difference (01/04/2011)

After installing the front sight, I just had to try the setup with rear also. Wow. This is now my go to self defense weapon. Again as with most Novak replacements, this is not a drop in. Requires more fitting then front sight. No need to have it professionally installed. Just take your time removing a little at a time with the right size file. If you have done any dovetail work, it is a snap.

Better, Faster & Easier than Front. (10/07/2017)

This rear sight was very fast to fit and install compared to the front unit for My PT-1911. Cleaned the bottom paint and the side paint of the dovetail edges and right in it went as almost by hand push. Have to use allen screw until after test fire/sight in tomorrow , then Lock-Tight. Oh yes Oil and Brush took off the Trijicon lettering when testing with brass punch, this I can live with.. Both sights are a lot brighter in daylight than were factory three dots. This was a lot easier than other rear sights I have installed in the two other 1911's I have. Also I have noticed my Taurus PT-1911 doesn't have the same Slide Markings as others shown..

Need a little fitting but no milling (12/04/2018)

They work but Taurus has some proprietary bevels to their dovetails. No big deal if you can use a file. But hey folks remember a machinist learns to file before they learn to use CNC. A real machinist that is not a machine operator. So if you are not comfortable with precision filing get a gunsmith to fit these.

But as far as I can tell this is your only choice for night sights on a Taurus PT1911. The others... Hienie, Trigicon, Meprolight, XS Big Dot, and Truglo will only say "Sorry we don't make sights for this gun" I know I have failed to get any of them to help me with my measurements to build a set for the PT1911. Go figure huh....
