I bought for my Marlin 336 in 35 rem. Installed with bushings & washers for max power. Noticeably smoother & easier to thumb hammer back, however, I had several misfires with handloads using cci primers. I realize these primers tend to be harder than others. Put old spring back in, problem went away. Switching to softer primers & may retry with those AFTER deer season. Would suggest extensive test firing to make sure it works.
Don't buy if you shoot a lot. 02/12/2014
We bought 3 of these kits to install on Model 39's. Might work well on a hunting rifle you only fire a few rounds out of. We use these guns for lever action silhouette competition. Every one acted the exact same way. They work perfectly when just installed then quit working. On a 40 round match, you'll get 25 shots then light hits and failures to fire. Makes no difference what combination of end caps or washers you use. The spring just gives up. Returning all 3 kits.
