Brownells USA Great rings, you do get what you pay for 14/05/2011

I've used TPS rings in the past. But switched to another brand with inserts so the scope doesn't get marred. But I ran into a problem with a flat top carbine. Tried two name brand mounts specifically for the 223. But ran out of windage adjustment trying to zero. Even tried a pair of windage adjustable rings, but ended up binding the scope. So I didn't even try to mount it using them. My last resort was with the TPS rings. They are on the money with close tolerances. After flipping the rings with the scope loosely mounted found the sweet spot. When I tightened everything up, My scope was laser sighted at optical zero for windage. Sometimes paying the extra money does make a huge difference in what you get.
