Finally, the REIN Legacy Body allows you to run various tail caps and remote switches with your REIN. By using a Unity Tactical™ or Surefire™ remote switch with a compatible tail cap assembly, along with the REIN 3.0 light head and a Cloud Defensive branded 18650 battery, you can achieve an impressive 90,000 candela output. This reflects only a 10% drop from the standard 100,000 candela offered by proprietary Cloud Defensive REIN remote switching.
The REIN Legacy body is optimized for use with Cloud Defensive-branded Samsung™ flat-top 30Q 18650 batteries or 18350 batteries for the REIN Micro. For those with a Dual-Fuel light head, CR123A batteries can still serve as a secondary power source. It is recommended to use flat-top batteries, as most button-top batteries are incompatible with the REIN Legacy Body.
The smaller diameter of the Surefire™ tail cap results in a reduced overall profile of your REIN light. When paired with Unity Tactical™ or Surefire™ switches, the overall length may be slightly longer than Cloud Defensive’s remote switch offerings. With a compact 1.3” bezel diameter and lower mounting lug height, the REIN 3.0 fits seamlessly on even the shortest host platforms.

By combining parts from multiple manufacturers, the system's nature changes. Cloud Defensive can only warranty its own parts, and any failures with non-Cloud Defensive components must be addressed with the respective manufacturer. In case of failure in the field, it may be difficult to determine the cause, so contacting Cloud Defensive Customer Service is essential for troubleshooting.
The REIN Legacy Body does not offer a Battery Jack feature, meaning it is not adjustable for various battery lengths. It performs best with flat-top 18650 cells or two CR123 batteries. Button-top cells are not recommended due to performance issues.
Note: Using CR123A batteries results in reduced output (50,000 Candela, 400 Lumens, and 60 minutes runtime).
