I installed this trigger in my DPMS LR-308 [1st Gen]. It was simple to install as the trigger comes with detailed instructions...but anybody who has ever assembled an AR lower can do it in a few minutes. The trigger comes with two threaded pins and screws for each end, plus allen keys to install them. I recommend Loctite on _one_ screw per pin before the screws are inserted.



The trigger is much lighter than the mil-spec DPMS trigger but I have no gauge so I can't be specific about the exact pull weight. However the pull is very crisp with no detectable creep or grittiness, and approaches the 'glass rod' standard for target triggers. I am very pleased with this purchase, and would recommend the trigger to anybody looking to upgrade.

This is my third one of these. All are fine additions and really very easy to install. Across the three I have so far installed the average pull weight is actually 3.4. and breaks very clean and crisp. Zero take up and over travel. Very safe and positive triggers. I recommend these highly and will use more. Great product!

An excellent improvement over milspec trigger. I put the 3.5lbs straight CMC trigger in all my AR15s. Trigger pull weight, travel and reset is as described (excellent). The flat trigger makes for more room for guys with larger hands. Anyone can install one of these triggers.

The only word I can use to describe this trigger is AWSOME. I installed this trigger in a Ruger AR 556. This rifle had a factory trigger pull of about 9 lbs. The CMC trigger installs very easily after you remove the existing trigger group. On a trigger pull gauge it breaks between 2.5 & 3 lbs. Because it has a very light trigger pull I was a bit skeptical as to whether it would actually fire the rifle because I was thinking that in order to lighten the trigger pull the springs would have to have less tension. The true test was when I went to shoot it at the range. I fired 100 rounds without any misfires. I am completely satisfied and would recommend the trigger for anyone looking to upgrade their AR 15.

Very pleased with the trigger system. Had slight problem with installation and had to go to a video online to find out that I had to partially remove grip & remove selector switch. Instructions could be a bit better.

I have this on 3 guns. Easy to install, no creep, crisp/clean break. Very well made and affordable.



One caution I would offer is the lack of creep does take getting used to, compared to a milspec trigger. It caught me a little by surprise. Old habits and expectations of creep can be a liability, especially under stress.

This CMC drop in trigger for AR type rifles is great. You go from 6+# to 3 1/2 # trigger pull instantly. Easy to install. Takes a punch and about 10 minutes max. I installed three in guns I own and am buying a 4th for a friend. Well worth the price.

Have installed a number of AR triggers including Jewell and Guislee, and this is a nicer trigger. Using it in my 3 gun AR, and would definitely buy another one.

Notwithstanding all the good reviews, I found mine to be

creepy, far too much disconnector engagement, and

a total lack of adjustments.

The frame is stamped steel.

The trigger moves so far before release that I almost begin

to wonder if it is going to fire at all.

Not worth anything near the price.

I recently purchased one of these fine trigger groups, only draw back, had to remove safety lever to install group, otherwise it was an easy process, I really liked the screws in the end of the pins instead of clips, pins were snug not too tight. Installed in a Sig Sauer M400 5.56x45/.223 AR 15. Shot group from 7/8 of an inch to .25 inch. I love this trigger, minimal take up slight over travel, but crisp, like breaking a glass pin. Found it on Brownelle's rifle parts page. Will be buying more of them in future.

Not a very good single stage trigger, too much take up with a lot of trigger creep. Nice clean break but this is overshadowed by the take up. Very easy installation.
I would not recommend this trigger to anyone.

I have bought 4 of these triggers for different builds, and
personally shoot over 5000 rounds with one. Not one
problem, works as advertised, and less expensive than most
triggers out there.

Great trigger no issues clips are a little small but work great

I have 2 CMC AR triggers, one Timney and one Wilson Combat. The McCormick has no creep while the Timney has plenty. The Wilson has a flawless break, after some break in. The CMC is by far the best for the $ and the difference to the Wilson isn't worth the extra money. I plan to buy more of the CMC triggers. I use these rifles for long range target shooting including varmint hunting.

I dropped this into a brand new CMMG lower expecting the best in line with glowing reviews read here and elsewhere.

Actual achieved results disappointed me. Single stage pull measured 4 lbs. with RCBS trigger pull gage. Was smooth enough, but creep was right at 1/16 inch measured with digital caliper at center of trigger curve.

Not at all good, esp when I am setting up a heavy barreled varminter, needing precise trigger control for pinpoint accuracy at longer ranges.

At the NRA convention, I tried the Geissele match trigger. AMAZING!
I went looking for CMC there, and found their booth space empty.
CMC is located pretty close to me, but emails and calls have brought no response at all.

This trigger took a sawhorse trigger and made something to be proud of. No creep travel etc. Even better was 4 day delivery in these insane times. Tom Wing 1-28-2013

The pull on my Bushmaster Carbon 15 was more pounds than the rifle weight. My 50 yd groups were not acceptable. This trigger corrected all that and I'm now shooting acceptable groups at 100 yds. Installation did require more than advertised. Had to take down the lower assembly including removing the safety to install. However, that didn't take long. Total time of installation about 30 minutes. Excellent trigger. Glad I bught it.

One of the rare products that does precisely what it is advertised to do. A true "drop in" trigger group. The take up is perfect and the pull measures exactly 3 1/2 lbs. Crisp, clean release you want in a match style trigger. Tightened my groups at 100 yds. significantly. Don't know about giselle and timney but this one is a keeper for sure.

The CMC Trigger Group is the fastest, easiest way to improve an AR trigger that I have seen. It truly is a drop-in part, no need to adjust or mess with it. Installation is a breeze and if you need to see how to do it before you put your's in, the Brownell's instruction video on Youtube shows how to do it. Instant crisp 3 lbs trigger on my AR, rivals the trigger on my bolt action rifles. Huge improvement on the mil-spec nearly 8 lbs trigger that was stock. My only negative comment, if you can even call it that, is that the pins are a shade longer than they need to be at least on my Stag L2. I understand why (combination of C-clips to secure them and need to fit a variety of man's. lowers). Doubt it will creat an issue, in fact they fit as snug as mil-spec pins even w/o using the c-clips to insure they stay put. You can't go wrong with this trigger...

I have reviewed this trigger before and given it an excellent rating. My use is for target rather than field/tactical use. The CMC trigger is very well made and a very nice, easy to drop in unit. Unfortunately, after a bit of use it goes full automatic. That's a big problem at a range that is sensitive because of population proximity. Still, it's a nice trigger if you single feed. Because of the full automatic issue I have to change my rating to poor.

Beautiful. This is the perfect AR target trigger that I have been looking for. If you've installed one before, this one goes in, in five minutes or less.

On the firing line this trigger has just the right mount of take-up, and then breaks cleanly with a very light pull. The best I have seen to date.

Big upgrade from most stock triggers, however if you're looking for an absolutely clean break, this is not a good choice. There is a bit of creep on the pull, which can be smoothed out, though you will void the CMC warranty if you disassemble the unit.

Other than the bit of creep, this trigger is excellent, and a good value for it's price range

I purchased this trigger for a build on a Spike's Tactical stripped lower receiver (.154 pins). After 300 rounds it functions flawlessly. Crisp, short reset to get more accurate and rapid fire down range and reduce the size of your groups. I saw bad reviews of this trigger from 2009 and a subsequent recall. The problems have been resolved because it is an animal. Installation...2 minutes. I had concern over the lighter than factory trigger in regards to AD's, however I dropped the rifle, bumped it, and generally beat it up as most operators do over time and have had no incidents of it initiating itself while selector on fire (unloaded of course). Highly recommended as an important AR upgrade.

I have installed many triggers and this is one of the better ones. a little creep but very crisp.

So I ordered 4 of these several months ago for rifles that a use when I take Tactical Carbine Classes, Teach Tactical Carbine Classes and shoot in Multi-Gun matches. For the money this is the best trigger i've every felt. The break could be a little more crisp, but the resent is about half the milspec trigger and much smoother. Overall it's a real nice, clean install. The Trigger shoe is smooth and wide. The whole thing was thought out real well. I also own a Wilson Combat TTU and believe that the TTU takes the cake when it comes to being crisp and quick on the reset... Unfortunately, I just can't justify the extra money for the TTU when the CMC is so good for $100 less. I just ordered 3 more of them, soon all my guns will have one in it. I'm even using one in my 6.5 Grendel for long range tactical training and matches out to 875 yards, Works great, I can't say enough good stuff about these trigger units.

Replaced the trigger in my Bushmaster Varminter with this one. Lighter, crisper, better. The only thing I don't really care for is the pins sticking out of the receiver, with "c" clips on them, but so it goes.

Easy to install, NO Creep and crisper than any of the competitors.

I have built a few ARs for people using the curved trigger version, all with great feed back from customer. I bought a straight version once because it was on sale. It is just as good as the curved. Several across the course bolt gunners have and like straight trigger designs for those rifles, thus they really like these for the gas guns. One officer claims it even makes his gun "look more accurate" ??? (what ever that means) If it saves you some money, don't pass it up!

I'm the type that doesn't mind paying more for quality parts. The Chip McCormick single stage trigger definitely falls in the high quality group. I bought mine straight from CMC when you could still order it straight from them. The drop-in design makes installation easier than a stock AR trigger group.I specified a slightly heavier 4-lb pull to match my 1911's trigger. There's no perceptible slack and when it does break, it's the whole "glass rod" cliche. I've tried numerous trigger groups and I rank this second only to my Geissele DMR trigger.

Got to buy mine from Mccormick in person at the 2009 shot show. to dumb to know what I was doing. My friend said " buy it stupid" easy install, works great. Gonna buy another.

Very easy to install. My group size improved from 1.77" to 1.15" @100yds. Follow up shots were much easier due to reduced slack. I installed it and banged the rifle around and couldn't get it to drop fire.

I always appreciate customer reviews. I read them before I order anything. So, I make it a point to leave reviews on things that I purchase. I picked up my Chip McCormick at a local gun store. I do most of my shopping at Brownells so I thought I'd leave a review on it here. This trigger is #1 Easy to install. #2 Sturdy and robust. #3 Clean and smooth to shoot. I could go on, but those are the big ticket items. If your a warfighter and appreciate having the best in your personal firearms without having to aquire a Class 3 FFL this trigger is the best in my book. I've had my share of time behind a black rifle and in Semi Auto mode the Mil-Spec trigger aint great when your trying to squeeze off a snap shot in pucker mode. This baby is CRISP.

I can't imagine my Bushmaster AR without this trigger. I have nothing but praise for the people at Chip McCormick Corp.! They've really got a winner with this trigger. Installation was straight forward and simple. It took less that a half hour start to finish. The trigger performance is incredible. There is zero take up and over travel just doesn't exist. With an RCBS gauge, it breaks exactly at 3.5 lbs everytime. You touch the trigger and 3.5 lbs of pressure later it releases crisply and cleanly. After shooting with several stock triggers in different AR's, I can't even compare the two triggers. If I had to pay double this price, I would do it. The difference is that good!

This trigger is an excellent performance enhancement to your duty or defense carbine. But, don't take my word for it. Read a published article by a reputable author and a well known publisher. [@]
