With assistance from the experts at Nodak Spud, this precise match was achieved by starting with 7075 T6 aluminum forgings that already have the proper profile built in. Definitely recommended

Brownells USA Nicely finished and smooth 01/06/2018

People complaining about color don't know what they're talking about. The upper and lower will never match exactly because anodizing never has consistent coloring. Nodak Spud and original Colts are the same way.



The receivers never matched in the Vietnam era.



When they were first issued to troops, they were a darker grayr. They lightened up as they aged.



I'm extremely impressed with mine.

This is not gray. It's lighter than deep black, but it's still black, not gray. Nice quality, but not accurately described and not the correct color for assembling a reproduction rifle. Expect to refinish it if you need something resembling a retro gray color.
