Since the carbon jacket on BSF .223 Wylde Carbon Fiber AR-15 Barrels contact only 5% of the inner barrel, there is an air pocket between the two that allows air to flow freely and keep the inner barrel cool. Definitely recommended

Great barrel 01/11/2017

Very good barrel. I have put this barrel on 2 AR15s. Both shot under 3/4 of an inch with factory ammo with 53gr bullets. Ran a bore cam through both of them. The bore looks good, no burrs on the gas port hole and no dings on the crown. If you want a light weight accurate barrel this one is it.

Light and Accurate 08/08/2017

I was looking to loose a little weight off the AR carbine I was building but didn't want to sacrifice accuracy or durability. So I took a shot and got one of these as it seemed to fill so roles.

I combined it with an Aero Upper/Lower combo, Superlative adjustable gas block, Geissele SSA trigger and other quality parts. Build was done by an accomplished gunsmith.

The results were outstanding. Started with some cold war surplus Malaysian 5.56 and got .7MOA groups at 100 yards off a bench. Then loaded up with the good stuff, Hornady 8126N. Got 1/2 MOA groups with that. Manufacturer claims thats what its capable of with good build and good ammo. I was blown away, never got that kind of accuracy out of a carbine before.

Its really an amazing product. Match grade accuracy, light weight and all sorts of good properties when it heats up. The carbon sleeve doesn't come into contact with the barrel along the length, just at the pressure points of the endcaps and gas block. They did some heavy duty engineering and tight tolerances to make sure that it fits perfectly and maintains proper tension, even when it gets hot.

Speaking of hot when the barrel does get hot you can still grip it because your holding the carbon shroud. The stiffness from the carbon means minimal deflection as it heats up and the gap with cooling holes means it will cool down faster. If your the type that really likes to heat things up with rapid fire the fact the carbon doesn't contact the barrel means it won't de-laminate under extreme conditions.

Finally I love the little finishing touches. A laser etched American flag and In god we trust on the ring at the end of the barrel.

I can't say its better or worse than a proof research barrel, but it is 5/8 the price. That makes it a great value for those who just can't blow that kind of bread on a barrel, but it is still a luxury item.
