If you have a retro rifle it is worth it to get at least one.

Have you priced an original one? 03/03/2018

Thumbs up for Brownells teaming up with NoDak Spud to offer a hard to find reproduction waffle magazine. Yes it's pricey but the originals are too and I can use this one with out worrying about damaging it. I ran 100 rounds thru mine in a Colt Commando with no issues at all. It's a little harder to insert on a closed bolt (when comparing to a Colt or Magpul mag) but it locks up tight and drops freely. As other reviews have noted, it comes oily and when you clean it some of the finish comes off. The finish on mine is a little blotchy and some of it came off on the feed lips but not that bad. After some hard use it will appear more like an original. Besides the finish the overall construction is excellent. I have recommended this to other. One thing to note is that there is no date code on it, so those that can only use pre-ban mags could use them.

Very Poor Finish Quality 28/01/2018

I bought this with the intention of using it in my reproduction M16-A1 style AR-15 build. When I received it the first thing I noticed was how gritty the finish on it was when compared to some original period correct magazines that I own, it almost feels like sandpaper. When I locked the magazine into my AR, it seemed to fit just fine, but when I took it out I noticed a bunch of black stuff on my hands. Upon closer inspection I noticed the finish was rubbing off of the magazine very easily. I also noticed that the magazine reeked of WD-40, like it was sprayed down with it before shipping. I tried to wipe down the magazine with a towel to see if I could get rid of the smell, and instead it took off quite a bit of the finish with very little effort. Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of the magazine given the price.
