Definitely recommended

Superb accuracy 11/05/2017

Worked up two different bullets using lapua brass ,varget and cci 450 primers.123 lapua scenars easily shoots less then 1/2 MOA at 100 yards.also worked up a load with hornady 100 gr amax they also shoot 1/2 or less.just at the range yesterday tried 120 gr amax 20 thousands off the lands and with my first 5 shot string ,at starting load ,shot less then 1 MOA . Didn't have time to shoot the rest of ladder but I'm positive I'll find the sweet spot for this bullet as well. This Barrel seems like it will shoot just about any bullet you want to work up.im more then happy. EASY TO FIND LOADS ALL WITH SUPERB ACCURACY.ill be buying criterion barrels from now on !!!!!

Excellent accuracy potential 05/04/2017

Just wanted to add a pic of how my barrel shoots at 200 yards. Barrel has less than 100 rounds down the tube.

My shooting buddy and I have four Criterion barrels, both AR style and bolt, and they ALL are tack drivers.

Pulled the factory.308 barrel from my Remington R25 upper and installed this barrel-barrel hood to receiver fit was awesome with a nice, snug fit. Barrel comes dimpled so gas block installation is a SNAP.

After my first trip to the range I noticed that all of the brass had one or two scratches that ran down/across the neck/shoulder of the brass. Alittle finger probing showed that because of the excellent machining, the edges of the barrel locking lugs are VERY SHARP.

SUGGESTION-before installing barrel, check the front edge "corners" of the lugs on the barrel extension that an empty case could pass over during the extraction cycle. To be clear, I am referring to the lugs that are part of the barrel NOT THE LUGS ON THE ROTATING BOLT. Cycle an empty case SLOWLY from the receiver and watch to see which lugs the case shoulder/neck pass between/over. On my rifle it was the two lugs centered on the right side of the barrel hood and the one immediately above them. I used my Dremel and a rubberized polishing bit to take off the corners on the front edge of those lugs. This task is MUCH EASIER to perform before barrel installation, in fact it's very easy to do. If you don't have a Dremel, get some 400 and 600 grit sandpaper, wrap some around your finger tip and get to it.

On its first trip to the range I just started shooting-no shoot clean, shoot clean balony. These barrels are hand lapped and they are SMOOTH. This is my first Criterion AR barrel but it's my fifth Criterion barrel overall, the others being "Remage" Rem 700 installs. This barrel was just like all the others in that there was almost NO copper after 30 rounds through a brand new barrel.

The rifle shot five groups under one inch at 200 yards trying some loads I threw together and I am THRILLED with this barrel.

Sub .5 MOA groups through a new barrel with first time, experimental loads is pretty awesome in my book.
