How do I like my XS Sights? (29/03/2016)

A few months back, I bought a set of XS Big Dot sights to put on a Smith 1911PD and I really, really liked the way they improved target acquisition. So,when I decided to get a Kimber Ultra Carry for my Sunday-go-to-meeting carry gun, the first thing I did, before I even had the gun, was to order a set of the Big Dot 24/7 tritium sights. I really like those sights. Installation is pretty straight forward, only requiring minor fitting of the front sight. The new Brownells dovetail punches also worked like a charm. My Ultra Carry is a base model and the factory sights are just that, basic. The XS sights are a huge improvement.

Very fast sight picture. Rock solid mount. I run a Kimber 1911 5". I had a gunsmith install them. Seemed easy enough but I probably would have screwed it up. The sights are fast and deadly accurate. These are tactical sights meant for shooting under pressure. You are not going to hit 3" groups at 50 yds out. I can maintain 4" groups at 25yds easy. Train for the fight and your groups will come. Highly recommend for any LEO.
