Definitely recommended

Great Trigger breaks clean and crisp 09/10/2014

I was pleasantly surprised by this trigger. I bought it because i didn't want to wait for a Jewell trigger on back order. I love the trigger it came adjusted beautifully and is well tuned! I really can not tell any difference in the trigger pull or smoothness of this trigger versus my Jewell hvr triggers. The only thing I don't like is the trigger itself feels like it is cheaply chrome plated rather than machined like the jewel. But I can get over than real quick when I start shooting! This is a huge upgrade over the stock trigger and worlds better than any timney I've ever owned. In fact I have sold all my timneys and will never buy another one. This is the same price as a timney and has the quality performance of the Jewell!

P.s.

This trigger installs the same as every other Remington 700 trigger it is not hard to install.

Seemed like lower quality vs others 12/09/2014

One of my function / safety tests is to tap lightly on the side of the action with a rubber mallet with the safety off to see if the firing pin drops. The Rifle Basix trigger set at 3.5 lbs would reliably drop the firing pin on the first or second tap . I haven't had any other 3.5lb+ trigger drop the firing pin. (I don't use any lighter pull weight). Take it FWIW - If you were to possibly hit or drop the rifle, situation would probably dictate that you have the safety on, or carry the rifle unloaded. I liked that the trigger shoe is similar to factory.

L-1 Triggers in Rem 700 PSS 22/07/2014

I have the L-1 installed in both of my Rem 700 PSS, both 308 and 223 for the last 10+ yrs and 5000+ rounds each. Fairly easy to install with orig factory safeties. Called Rifle Basix with questions, and, he was extremely helpful with customer service. Set up each for safe operation at approx 2 1/2 lbs. Once set up and screws lock-tighted... has not changed at all. Every 1000+ or more rounds, I pull the receiver and clean sear mating surfaces with a small strip of clean paper through the keyhole, and reassemble. Good for another 1-2000 rounds unless minor dirt creeps in. I originally chose these over the other quality triggers because I wanted the orig Rem trigger style... wide surface and grooved. I normally shoot paper at 100-200 and metal silhouettes out to 800 yds and beyond. With these triggers and proper rifle setup, I can almost get benchrest accuracy at 100... 1/4" with 223 and under 1/2" 308, and hit bowling pins at 800 yds. I am Extremely Happy with these triggers and would recommend these to others. (former NRA instructor and shooting enthusiast).
